A pleasant flight to Perth from Singapore we took at 7am brought us to this city by 12pm or so..and we were pretty excited for this upcoming roadtrip.
Upon reaching Perth International Airport, we were impressed by the automated gate system they offered for people with certain passports, and this includes Singapore. Immigration customs check was quick and there was also a lovely dog to spot check other luggage. Overall, we find the procedures very smooth to go through without the long queues.
Our first stop was to collect our rented car from Avis. Initially, the manager recommended us to rent the portable Wifi so that we can use our phones or tablets to access Google Maps. However, we were not very savvy with Google Maps and due to our battery limitations, we decided with the use of GPS.
So there we are with our Toyota Aurion.. this is also known as Camry in Singapore. Pretty impressed with this car with respect to its functions, speed. stability of the car. Too bad there are strict speed limits, so we didnt really drive at high speeds with this car haha
Our first stop was to check-in to our accomodation, Como B&B. This place is a wonderful acoomodation with really clean facilities and spacious toilet. It is located near to a park, and the atmosphere around it is calm and quiet. Very ideal for relaxation..it is about 10mins drive away from the CBD area of Perth city..Will be good if you are doing self-drive. And parking is free, right in front of the house, with free Wifi and delicious breakfast available each morning!
After we off loaded our bags, we drove to Kings Park, one of the top attractions in Perth city.. There are several carparks within the park, depending on the spot of the Park you wanna explore. We left our car at Frasers Carpark and ventured into the park.. We had a walk at the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, which has a really nice view of the city to offer. Wildflowers were blooming so the walkway was very lovely with the flora. We also saw many wedding couples taking photos at various spots of the park...
Nice city view from Kings Park
Some Wild Flowers Blooming
Birds CHirping away in Kings Park
The cool breeze.. The pleasant sunshine.. and the Greenery.. Something that we yearn to experience in this getaway!
After our visit to Kings Park, we set off for dinner at restaurant Barchetta, located along the Cottlesloe Beach.. It was about 20min ride away and just at the right moment around 630pm, we saw the beautiful sunset. I had previously made a booking online at this restaurant as it had very high ratings and reservations are definitely recommended to secure a seat to view the sunset. We had their chef recommendations and the food turned out to be pretty good.
As the weather was turning extremely cold at night, we made our way back to Como B&B for an early rest before embarking on more adventures next day!
